Local downtown restaurants participate in GSO FABweek 2011

Hello Gorgeous!
We have some UNBELIEVABLE news that will knock your Loubies right off of your little feet! To all event goers of GSO FABweek, local downtown Greensboro restaurants, Center City Bar & Grille and Palmetto Restaurant, will offer you the chance to dine with them after each Fashion Show and Mixer during April 28 - 30, 2011, and will discount your food bill by 5%, and match another 5% to the American Red Cross NC Tornado Fund!
Sooo EXCITING! Can't you just taste the Chicken and Waffles from Palmetto, and/or the delicious BBQ and Hushpuppies from Center City?  Yum, YUM!
So here's how it will work.  When you arrive at each event, you will be given a special badge that you will need for dining purposes only! As you know, our neighboring cities were hit drastically by the sudden tornadoes that swept through our state.  And since you have to eat, you might as well dine for the cause!
Okay, the stomach is growling and I have work to do! See you downtown! And in my best Julie Childs voice, "Bon Appetit!"

Loving Fashion & Beauty,
xoxo

The Belle of the Ball- Maggi Bridal!

Even if you aren’t a bride to be, you definitely do not want to miss our “La Belle Bridal Show” on April 30th. We have a bit of exciting information to share… all bridal fashions will be featured by our dear friends at Maggi Bridal!

If you haven’t visited the dynamic duo Amy Kiszely and Laura Stanley at their bridal boutique nestled in the heart of Raleigh, you are seriously missing out.  These two blonde bombshells and fashion alums of Meredith College brought new life to the business, which has been in existence for the past twelve years. The shabby chic atmosphere makes you feel ultra feminine while finding that perfect gown. Brides to be that are craving a personal and exclusive experience should definitely check out Maggi Bridal in their quest of finding the right dress.

We must say we are VERY excited for our “La Belle Bridal Show, “ which will not only feature gorgeous gowns for the bride, but also bridesmaids dresses and tux’s for the lucky man. Join us for the hottest bridal fashion along with hors d’oeuvres, desserts and of course…a beauty bag! A silent auction will also be held (with the MOST amazing gifts, I am DYING for them myself) and don’t forget all proceeds will be donated to The American Red Cross Haiti and Japan Relief Funds!

So won’t you join us and our friends from Maggi Bridal as we share the latest bridal fashions, munch on some yummy treats and bid on the most fabulous of gifts- all supporting a great cause! Can’t imagine a better way to spend my Saturday afternoon, what about you?

In the meantime, to get you more excited visit our best bridal gal pal’s at www.maggibridal.com

Until next time…

XOXO,

On the Frontlines…Rules for the Runway:

As GsoFABweek is quickly approaching, I’m sure many of you are asking the same question…What on earth do I wear?? Have no fear dolls, your GSO FABweek gal is here to give you the low down of what to wear to a fashion show. Here are some simple rules to follow…

1) Pay Tribute: Usually, you honor the designer by wearing one of their pieces. Fortunately, GSO FABweek will be featuring multiple designers per show, so you gals have a wide spectrum to choose from.

2) Shoe Stopper: This is not the time to bring out the ballet flats! Truth is, when you are not mingling you will be sitting watching the show, which gives your tootsies ample time to rest! Tonight’s the night to bring out those babies you paid way too much for and feel guilty wearing! No need to give your feet a rest tonight let them steal the show!

3) A Pop of Color: I’m always a HUGE fan of the LBD, but tonight, give her a rest. All the fashionistas around you will see right through your little “conservative” act.  Why not play it up with a little pop of color and show your fellow chic pals that you are on cue with the trends of the season? (You do know this is the season of bright colors right??) Hello, take a look at the spring palate…coral, turquoise, hot pink…don’t short yourself by being bland in the back wearing BLACK!

4) Keep it Classy: No one at a fashion show wants to see your “goodies.” That’s right, strap the girls in and no hiking of the skirts please. At fashion shows you will be surrounded by the elite, which leave no time to be slutty. (Yes, I said it!) If you would wear it to a frat party, put it back in the closet!

5) Throw it in the bag: You don’t have to go overboard and spend thousands of dollars on a dress you will only wear once, but different rules apply to the bag.  If it’s a fake or a replica, leave it at home. Anyone with a good eye will see right though your Flouie Vuitton. If you can’t afford the real thing, borrow, or opt for a sleek bag that has no label. You will thank yourself later!

6) Who’s that girl?: Unless you are a total celebrity (not in your own mind) please remove the shades. Besides, the show will be totally dark and believe me, you DON’T want to miss a thing!  Those who try to stay incognito are only cheating themselves; they totally can’t see and miss the entire event! So, throw those sunnies on while you are en route to the show, but remember to throw them in your glam bag once you walk the red carpet! We wanna see those gorgeous lashes dolls!

That’s the low down gal pals…We can’t wait to see what you choose!! If you have any other dire questions, let us know!

Until April 28th….
Xoxo,

GSO FABweek Girl
